DESIGN STRATEGIES
One Herastrau City is a large scale mixed use project comprising of a shopping mall, residential units in six towers and a 5-star hotel in a specially shaped elliptic tower, for a total of 155.000 m2 above ground. The towers are strategically placed in order to not obstruct each others’ views, while their varying heights create a diversified skyline for the city of Bucharest.
The shopping mall is organized around courtyards, allowing people to enjoy outdoor gardens and f&b while protected from the noise of adjacent boulevards.
The residential towers feature a characteristic stepped pattern of balconies, as way of creating movement and emotion to the otherwise continuous solution that the commercial brief requires. Similarly, the brass colored facade finish captures reflections and creates a dynamic appearance that changes with the light and the sky.
Lastly, the elliptic hotel tower is envisioned as a faceted crystal structure: a perfume bottle of massive scale.
