DESIGN STRATEGIES
Together with Urban Agency, we won the race for developing a 4-tower project with a retail and cultural functions podium in downtown Seoul. We devised a scheme that by a simple 45 degree tilt of the structural grid, gives better views and distances between the four towers.
The cascading volumes towards the plaza create favorable conditions in terms of wind, a situation which otherwise would have been a tremendous challenge, with down-washing winds from four towers meeting in a small area. The pixelated volumes not only break the wind, but also create outdoor terraces and seating areas for the residents and visitors.
In this project, we saw our task as designing a true, 24/7 live/work/ play community at the heart of Seoul. We are looking forward to seeing it live ultimo 2023.
