Modular Green Roof

Typically, extensive green roofs are integrated constructions with the structure and the service networks, resulting to difficulties in maintainance, damage detection and damage repair: in case of failure, the roof gardens need to be excavated to create access to infrastructure, resulting to the destruction of the roof garden.

The proposed solution entails the creation of a suspended modular green roof system similar to a raised floor found inside buildings. The planters can vary in size and weight , but in any case, the networks run freely underneath the green structure, and they can be easilty accessed for repair, without destroying the garden.

The solution is meant for institutional buildings such as hospitals, administrative buildings, schools etc but private use can also be considered with the right scaling of the system.
